COVID-19 vaccinations for patients aged 65 to 69 years

You may be wondering why we are currently not contacting patients in the 65 – 69 age group for their covid vaccination. This is due to NHS England directing GP led vaccination centres to concentrate on 16 – 64 year olds with underlying health conditions. In line with this directive, Drayton Medical Practice is currently only contacting patients in this age group to arrange their vaccination.

NHS England is writing to patients aged 65 to 69, inviting them to book their vaccine at mass vaccination sites.

Unfortunately, we are aware that patients are experiencing issues booking appointments at mass vaccination centres. We would encourage patients to keep the link provided to them in the letter sent by NHS England or wait to be contacted for an appointment.

We want to assure all patients that they will be contacted for any for a vaccination, but his may not necessarily be from their local surgery.
